At the gateway to France’s Mediterranean south, the Ardèche boasts a well-preserved natural and cultural heritage, while also benefiting from the many advantages of the Mediterranean fringe. The Auberge Les Murets is ideally located for enjoying all the riches of Southern Ardèche. Just a few kilometres from both the Cévennes National Park and the Monts d’Ardèche Regional Park, it’s an extraordinary playground offering a plethora of hikes or bike rides, to discover the local flora, as well as the many nautical activities in the Gorges de l’Ardèche.

Yet there’s also plenty of heritage sites to discover in this exceptional landscape. There are no less than five UNESCO World Heritage Sites near our hotel. Discover the Ardèche or Chassezac gorges in the best possible way aboard a canoe, a kayak, or a rowboat guided by a boatman. For a wilder experience, try canyoning in the Borne gorges, or try the via ferrata or climbing routes along the rivers. If you enjoy fishing, you’ll also love the numerous aquatic sites where you’ll be able to enjoy your favourite activity at your own leisure. For swimming and bathing, you’ll have the choice between specially developed beaches or smaller, wilder areas.
Many riding schools close to Chandolas offer unforgettable rides amid gorges and hills.

Balazuc, Vogüé, Banne...

Come and discover the Ardèche’s towns and villages, well renowned for their sheer charm. You’ll be able to take the department's many lovely roads and discover the picturesque villages, many of which are classed as “Villages de Caractère” for their unique charm. Visit Balazuc, perched on a cliff overlooking the River Ardèche, as well as Vogüé with its impressive castle. Also take a stroll down the winding streets of Banne, Labeaume, Naves, as well as Antraigues-sur-Volane, where singer-songwriter Jean Ferrat moved to in 1974; his house is now a museum dedicated to his life and works.

During your stay, we advise you to pick up a Pass Ardèche, on sale from our hotel. You’ll be able to visit the Ardèche at your own leisure, where you can build a 3 or 6 day itinerary to discover 38 local sites taking part in the deal. The most famous of these include the Alba-la-Romaine museum and archaeological site, the Château de Vogüé, Castanea in Joyeuse (the Discovery Centre for Ardèche Chestnuts, a real biography on chestnuts past, present and future), the Chauvet Cave 2, the Aven d’Orgnac Grand Site de France, and the Cité du Chocolat Valrhona.
