Why not cycle to Les Murets? … A different way to get there…

What if the journey began the moment you got on your bike?

Spending a few days in the Ardèche doesn’t necessarily mean taking the car. For those who like to take things at a slower pace, take the time to admire the scenery and make the journey an integral part of their holiday, Cycling to Les Murets is a lovely way to experience travel with a difference.

And it is precisely to encourage this way of getting around that we have devised our service Eco-Discount : when you arrive at the Auberge by bike, we’ll give you 20 % off your Comfort room*.

🚲 What if the journey itself were already part of the holiday?

When you’re cycling, you don’t experience a place in quite the same way.

We’ll take our time.
We observe.
We stop when a landscape catches our eye.
We discover the country lanes, villages and paths that we might otherwise have simply driven past.

In Les Murets, as we are situated at the junction of several cycle routes, we are ideally placed to welcome cyclists. The establishment also holds the ‘Accueil Vélo’ accreditation and we can help you organise your arrival or your outings.

And for those who’d like to go for a cycle without necessarily bringing their own bike, we also offer the electric bike hire (excluding the eco-discount).

🌿 Come by bike, then carry on exploring the Ardèche

Of course, the appeal of cycling to Les Murets doesn’t end when you arrive.

From the Auberge, there are several routes you can take to set off on a Exploring the Southern Ardèche, whether you’re a fan of conventional bikes, e-bikes or gravel bikes.

  • For a leisurely walk, a loop of about 26 km In particular, it takes you through Chandolas, Grospierres and Maisonneuve.
  • For cyclists who want to go a bit further, a loop of around 38 km It passes through Beaulieu, Saint-Paul-le-Jeune, Banne and Berrias-et-Casteljau, amongst others.
  • And for the more active among you, there are other routes leading to the Via Ardèche, the Routes de l’Ardéchoise or the Grande Traversée de l’Ardèche.

Would you prefer to set off without a set itinerary? We can also offer advice based on your ability, your preferences and the time you have available. We have a range of itineraries available for our guests, all starting from our establishment.

🧳 A break where you leave the car behind… and just breathe

Travelling by bike is also a different way to experience your holiday.

Once you’ve arrived, there’s no need to get back in the car for every trip. A stroll, a visit to the market, a sightseeing trip, a picnic… these can all be opportunities to continue exploring the area at your own pace, in “slow tourism” style.

And after a few kilometres, it’s time to unwind: a break in the countryside, a moment of relaxation, a dip in the swimming pool (open and heated from May to September), a sauna (available from April to October), a massage, dinner at the restaurant or simply a few hours of doing nothing.

Cycling then becomes much more than just a means of transport: it becomes a way of slowing down.

💚 Cycle to reduce your environmental impact… and get rewarded

Our Eco-Discount was born out of a desire to encourage travel choices that help minimise the impact of a holiday, without turning it into a list of restrictions.

Our motto is simple: «Less but better, whilst looking after living things.»

It was with this in mind that we secured the’European Ecolabel and that we are gradually developing our practices and our proposals.

So, rather than always looking further afield, why not start by looking at what’s within pedalling distance?

A weekend in the Ardèche, a room at Les Murets, a few kilometres by bike and plenty of time to yourself.
